Yolo County confronts record budget deficits

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors discussed plans for balancing this year‘s$3.5million budget deficit and a projected$19million deficit for2009-2010at a meeting last week. Possible actions discussed at the meeting include voluntary salary savings measures,asking departments to make cuts and possibly layoffs.

Undergraduate students have the potential to do great things.This year’s THIRDeYE Theatre Festival,entirely put on by undergraduates,is not one of those great things. The first play of the festival,The Readers by Joe Ferreira,threw together important plot elements at the very beginning.The mysterious silhouetted paper passers,the barking dog and the franticly cleaning artist started the show off,dare I say,dramatically.
