Filipino Association for Health Careers promotes biennial health conference

Event raises money for HIV/AIDS services

resident Sarah Hafer will participate in AIDS/LifeCycle, a seven-day,
545-mile annual cycling event in support of HIV/AIDS services and
education. Last year’s event boasted more than 2,500 cyclists and roadies and raised over $9 million.

Scientists are making discoveries about how some fish locate their food and each other. Jennifer DeBose, a researcher with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration’s Flower Garden Banks and National Marine Sanctuary in
the northwestern Gulf of Mexico, is one of the authors of a recent
study of a chemical known as Dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) and its
role in affecting aggregation behavior in fishes.
Citywide crash rate experiences 50 percent decrease

collision rates have made a dramatic 50 percent decrease over a span of
five years. From 2002 to 2006, the California Highway Patrol compiled
data on collisions at various intersections throughout the city,
investigating possible causes and preventative measures. The term collision refers to an accident between a motor vehicle and
another motor vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian or any other object.

students were referred to Student Judicial Affairs after a grader
noticed that their homework assignments were identical. One student
received an administrative notice as a warning measure, and the other’s

senior was referred to SJA for stealing another student’s work. The
student admitted to the violation and agreed to a sanction of
disciplinary probation until graduation and community service.
