The Whole Earth Festival staff invites the Davis community “to come get your dancey parts warmed up for Whole Earth” this Saturday at their third and possibly final Roller Disco. The fundraiser and precursor to the festival will be held this Saturday from8:30p.m.to12:30a.m.Sundayat the DISC Hockey Rink in South Davis,located on28012ndSt.at the corner of2nd and Pena Drive.This may be the last Roller Disco as the rink will close this June; the owners will move the business to Woodland.
Prop 1B funding depends on Prop 1A passing

Voters will decide on May19whether or not to pass Proposition1B,which would pay back public schools and community colleges the approximately$9.3billion they have lost in budget cuts over the last year and a half. Prop1B would amend the state constitution as it relates to Proposition98,a budget initiative that has been in effect since1988.If passed,Prop1B would increase the amount of education spending that is already allotted under Prop98.

The Bike Church, a student-run campus institution that originated in the Domes Sustainable Living Area, chose to leave campus last year after failed talks with Student Housing regarding renovation of their location. Bike Church organizers vowed to continue educating people on bike repair and starting an off-campus location.
