For the sixth year in a row, the Education for Sustainable Living Program offers students a way to learn outside the classroom.

Marion Miller, professor of environmental toxicology, passed away on Feb. 25. While she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2009, she remained at the university close to her death. She was 55.

The Native American studies program began at UC Davis in 1969, largely thanks to Jack Forbes, who joined the university earlier that year. Forbes was an author, activist and professor emeritus. He died Feb. 23 and was 77.

The information offered appeared to promote large and conventional agriculture, the consumption of meat and a fair and balanced discussion of topics such as sustainability.
