Women’s Basketball

Who: UC Davis vs. UC Irvine

Where: Davis, Calif. (home)

Score: 58-70 (loss)

The Aggies started off their senior day game strong against UC Irvine (UCI), but were unable to equalize the score. The Aggies finished the first quarter ahead, then entered into a back-and-forth battle for the rest of the game. The UCI Anteaters made four triples going into the half, making up for Aggie Avery Sussex’s, a second-year exploratory program major, 5-0 scoring run. Nya Epps, a fourth-year communication major, scored five points in the third quarter, helping the Aggies attempt to equalize. The fourth quarter saw the Aggies go on defense, only allowing UC Irvine to score 10 points while the Aggies scored 15. Megan Norris, a fifth-year political science major, scored the final points for the Aggies in the last 37 seconds. Ultimately, the Anteaters took home the victory with a final score of 70-58. 

Equestrian

Who: UC Davis vs. University at Tennessee at Martin

Where: Davis, Calif. (home)

When: 3/7

Score: 14-5 (UC Davis win) 

As the last home game for the UC Davis equestrian team, the Aggies faced UT Martin. Winning 14-5 on Senior Day, UC Davis dominated throughout the meet, only giving up one event to UT Martin. In Flat, the Aggies secured the event win 4-1 with strong performances across the board. Carmen Gonzalez, a second-year animal science major, scored a high of 95, earning her the top spot in Flat and a Most Outstanding Player (MOP) award. In Horsemanship, the Aggies put up a good fight against UT Martin, but conceded the event 1-3. Looking to secure the overall victory, the Aggies took a 4-1 event win in Fences, with Chloe Fares, a second-year applied mathematics major, earning an 85 and a MOP award. To round out the meet, the Aggies swept Reining, securing all five points available and winning the overall meet 14-5.

Women’s Lacrosse

Who: UC Davis vs. Stonehill College

Where: Davis, Calif. (home)

When: 3/7

Score: 19-7 (win)

Marking UC Davis’ fourth win of the season, the Aggies dominated against Stonehill College at home. With a total of 11 players scoring throughout the match, the Aggies were able to score 19 goals against Stonehill’s seven. Jane Fox, a third-year design major, scored a career high of six goals, marking her fourth hat trick of the season. Annie Cimperman, a fourth-year communication and design double major, secured possession with eight draw controls throughout the game. Despite Stonehill putting up seven goals, they were no match for the Aggie’s defense and offense.
