Over UC Davis’ spring break, women's water polo traveled to La Jolla, Calif. to compete against UC San Diego (UCSD) and Brown University on March 27 and 28.

The Aggies defeated UCSD 12-11 in a quick back-and-forth match on March 27.

UC Davis scored two consecutive goals against the Tritons within the first two minutes of gameplay, the first scored by Liberty Massman, a fourth-year human development major, and the second scored by Sadie Henry, a third-year neurobiology, physiology and behavior major. The Tritons quickly followed up with a goal of their own.

After two more goals from the Aggies, the Tritons went on a scoring drive toward the end of the first quarter, securing three goals and ending the quarter at a tie of 4-4.

The Aggies and the Tritons started off the second quarter with back-and-forth goals for a total of four goals between the two teams. The Aggies finished the second quarter with an additional goal, edging their lead further and finishing the quarter 7-6.

The third quarter ended 11-10 in favor of the Aggies, and the last quarter only saw two goals, one scored by each team. The Aggies scored the first goal within the first 30 seconds of gameplay, while the Tritons finished off the match with their goal in the last three minutes of the game. The final score of the match against UCSD was 12-11, with the Aggies narrowly securing the victory after a close game.

The Aggies then played Brown University on March 28.

UC Davis started the match against Brown with a goal by Chelesa Johnson, a third-year human development major, within the first 30 seconds of gameplay. After Brown secured a goal of their own, the Aggies went on a three-score drive within the first quarter.

Brown finished off the first quarter with a goal in the last 30 seconds of playtime. The score for the first quarter ended with 4-2, the Aggies keeping the lead.

During the second quarter, both teams traded goals, scoring two each. However, the Aggies were able to finish the second quarter with another goal, ending with 7-4 in favor of UC Davis.

Then, the third quarter started with back-to-back goals by Brown within the first three minutes of gameplay. The Aggies then scored three back-to-back goals over the course of the next three minutes. Brown scored a goal in the final 30 seconds of the third quarter, trying to remain in the game and make a comeback. However, UC Davis quickly followed up with a goal of their own in the final 12 seconds of the quarter. The final score for that quarter was 11-7, in favor of the Aggies.

The fourth quarter saw each team score six goals. Brown secured the first and final goal of the match, as the two teams went back and forth scoring. The final score for the game was 17-13, with UC Davis taking another victory and furthering their winning streak to four consecutive games.

Next, the Aggies are set to participate in the Big West Conference in Long Beach, Calif.  between April 10 and 12.
