Student dies following bike collision on Hutchinson Drive
20-year-old Lincoln Sabini was pronounced dead after the April 13 crash

UC Davis student Lincoln Sabini, aged 20, died following a cycling collision with a car on Hutchinson Drive near the West Village housing area of campus just before 3 p.m. on Monday, April 13.
The student was pronounced dead after being taken to the Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, according to a university statement. Sabini was later identified by the Solano County Coroner’s Office, according to The Davis Enterprise.
Sabini worked as a laboratory aide and studied agriculture, according to his LinkedIn account. They were affiliated with the entomology/nematology department, according to his UC Davis Directory profile.
As noted in an Aggie Alert announcement sent out at 3:26 p.m., a segment of Hutchinson Drive between Horizon Street and Celadon Street was closed following the collision.
UC Davis Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team has begun investigating the collision, alongside other agencies. The university has no details from the investigation to release at this time and no others were injured during the collision, a university spokesperson said in an email to The California Aggie.
“Our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends and all who are affected by this tragic loss,” the university’s statement reads.
