Women’s Soccer

The match against the University of Portland ended the Aggies’ undefeated three-match streak. The Aggies put up a strong fight against Portland, taking three shots on goal and six shots in total. Lakelee Perkins, a third-year psychology major, was the first Aggie to take a shot in the first 10 minutes of play. Chloe Keating, a first-year undeclared major, made two of the shots on goal, and Presley Henry, a first-year undeclared major, made the third shot. The Pilots’ goalkeeper saved each shot. Piper Wilkison, a second-year human development major, and the Aggies’ goalkeeper, played all 90 minutes and saved the Pilots’ shots.
Women’s Golf
Who: UC Davis, Leadership and Golf Invitational
Where: Seattle, Wash. (away)
When: Sept. 14-15
Score: Seventh place
Women’s golf finished its first invitational in seventh place out of 17 schools. Overall, the team finished with 17 strokes over par for the two-day invitational with a total of 881 strokes. Nina Choe, a first-year undeclared major, finished her first collegiate golf tournament in fifth place, tying with three other golfers with a total stroke count of two under par. Choe started the third round in second place but fell to fifth after hitting a quintuple bogey and finishing one over par. Michelle Ho, a second-year computer science major, finished in 17th place with eight strokes over par for the two-day tournament, with a total of 220 strokes.
Men’s Waterpolo
Who: UC Davis vs the University of California, Irvine
Where: Stanford, Calif. (away)

Score: 10-14 (loss)
UC Davis traveled to Stanford to participate in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Invitational and play against three teams across four days. The first match for the Aggies was against No. 13 UC Irvine on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. The Anteaters and the Aggies went head-to-head for the first few minutes of the game, each scoring one goal, but the Anteaters surged ahead. They quickly scored four more goals within the first period. UC Irvine and UC Davis went back and forth, scoring through the second and third periods. The fourth period is when the Anteaters took the lead by four goals to secure their victory and the Aggies’ loss.
