Finances trumped sports last Thursday when the UC Berkeley division of the Academic Senate passed a resolution to cease campus funding for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The University of California has revised and expanded its sustainability policy all the way to the dining room, mandating that 20 percent of all food purchased by 2020 come with a “sustainable” certification.

For nearly 50 years, many UC Davis students have gotten their monthly haircut without ever leaving campus grounds. They will have to venture a bit farther starting next month when University HairCutters closes its doors Dec. 15.

Sitting and chatting with an internationally recognized artist might seem intimidating. But when speaking with the celebrated Stathis Trahanatzis, one finds just the opposite – rather, the approachable Greek native has made it his mission to share his life philosophy with students around the world.

The UC Davis School of Law is hosting a day-long conference today entitled “CleanTech in the New ‘Environmental’ Environment: mapping the evolving landscape for CleanTech entrepreneurs and professionals.” The first panel discussion begins at 9:45 a.m. and is one of three panels that are free and open to the public throughout the course of the day at King Hall. The symposium is expected to run until 4:45 p.m. and will be followed by a reception. Keynote presentations and a luncheon required reservations. However, students and members of the community are encouraged to attend the free panels. Kevin R. Johnson, dean of the School of Law, has been involved with planning the symposium for the past year.
