Photo of the Week
FeaturesMarch 30, 2011
After a long quarter in Davis and the week of finals, I was able to take a break from it all and travel to New York, where I took this photo. It shows 34th Street from the corner of Broadway with the Empire State Building in the background. I like this photo because the iconic building makes it look very “New York.” The skyline with buildings growing from small to large also has a nice effect. I took this photo with an aperture of f13 and shutter speed of 1/125. At f13 the depth of field – meaning the focal length is very long – I was able to get everything in the frame in focus despite my distance from the buildings themselves.
