The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine has had its ups and downs throughout its existence. From losing its accreditation to becoming one of the leading institutions in veterinary medicine, one man has been through it all – Dean Bennie Osburn. But like all good things, the dean’s 14-year tenure will be coming to an end as he will retire in the summer of 2011.

It’s hard to figure out when Barbara Nazarewicz, senior landscape architecture major, has time to sleep. Between her multiple landscaping projects and leadership positions it seems that Nazarewicz is always on the go.

He is one of the employees driving temporary or permanently disabled students, faculty and staff to and from classes and work on the UC Davis campus.

At a glance, Jim McClain’s office décor is not particularly revealing of his love for the ocean. A general map of the seafloor covers the wall opposite of his desk, while the movie poster for Endless Summer: In Search of the Perfect Wave occupies the wall to his left. One shelf of his bookcase seems to be dedicated entirely to family photos.

Class registration can seem like a never-ending cycle of stress, panic and frantically rushing to a computer at inconvenient times. But it doesn’t have to be that way. By planning carefully and asking the right questions, class registration this year will be a cinch.
