New scheduling system for Health Center

Once upon a few months ago, if a student woke up with a sore throat and fever, they would have to argue themselves hoarse with the appointment desk in an attempt to be seen that day. Now, with the Cowell Student Health Center’s new Open Access System, if a student wakes up feeling ill on a Monday, they can see a doctor that same Monday.

Imagine being stuck in the wilderness,in need of medical attention that was more than an hour away.This isn’t the premise for a new reality TV show,but a situation that one of UC Davis‘ newest clubs – the Wilderness Medicine club – hopes to attend to. Emphasizing the ideas of preparedness and awareness,the Wilderness Medicine club seeks to spread knowledge ofbasic skills and important safety measures one might need in the backcountry.

The Student Fashion Association, led by president and senior textiles and clothing major Ashley Carros, is putting on a “Fashion Palooza” today at the Memorial Union Garrison Room from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
