He would move to Japan,and start a sports camp for Japanese youth.It would be a cultural exchange– U.S.students could come and intern as camp counselors,while Japanese youth would have the opportunity to learn from Americans. In2005,Best,a UC Davis1979alumnus,turned that idea into a pilot project in Kiyosato,Japan,a small town in the mountains three hours west ofTokyo.
