UC Davis professor experiences 7.9 Sichuan earthquake

Zhongli Pan, a UC Davis food science professor was in Shaanxi Province, China on May 12 when he felt vibrations crawl up his body. Having overheard a discussion on earthquakes just a day earlier, Pan thought it was coincidental and ignored the movements.

Fundraiser to honor of deceased student

The spirit of Angelina Rose Malfitano lives on. The Prytanean Women’s Honor Society will host a car washon Saturday to raise money for a memorial scholarship fund in honor of Malfitano, a UC Davis student who passed away in spring 2006.

UC Davis to host first dance marathon tonight

Imagine spreading awareness about pediatric and adult HIV and AIDS by dancing the night away. Students will have the opportunity to do this at the first-ever UC Davis Dance Marathon. Beginning tonight at 8 p.m. and ending Saturday morning at 8 a.m. the event will be held in the lower half of the ARC Pavilion.

As my college career comes to a close, so too does my time at The California Aggie. Two-and-a-half years ago, I started as a sports writer here so it’s easy for me to draw a comparison between my last days at The Aggie to an athlete retiring. Many athletes have made it a point to retire at the top of their games: Jim Brown, Barry Sanders and Sandy Koufax to name a few. So in the shadows of those legends, I am attempting to do the same.
