Column: Nuclear ambitions

Sometimes it seems the older I get, the more I realize I don’t really understand.

Column: I’ve got a B.A. in dressing slutty

OpinionMarch 28, 2011

Column: Cyclistas

OpinionMarch 28, 2011
I never cared about the intersection of dating and transit until I went to UCD. Guest Opinion: Embracing student activism

OpinionMarch 14, 2011

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin definitely think so.

Few college students would pay $495 for three shots in the arm.

Column: Narcissism 2.0

OpinionMarch 10, 2011
Greek mythology supplies us with the story of Narcissus.

Column: Money and politics

OpinionMarch 10, 2011
As the battle over government spending rages across the country, especially near here in Sacramento, one of the standard charges levied against folks on the right is that they – well, we – are beholden to big business.

Column: Restructuring the mind

OpinionMarch 10, 2011
“There’s nothing practical about the mind’s meanderings,” the father says to his son in a book I once read.

Guest opinion: UC Davis police and administration infiltrate peaceful student protest

OpinionMarch 10, 2011
For several months, administrators, students and police have been coordinating an under-the-radar response team to infiltrate student protest groups, relay information to administrators and police leadership and control peaceful gatherings in response to tuition spikes and budget cuts.
