Ahh, the Facebook column – a great fallback for columnists looking for shit to write about.

Oh man. This time next week, I’ll be writing an emotional closing to my short time as a columnist for The California Aggie. (I’m going abroad next quarter.)

For this week, I’ve decided to get my precious, beautiful readers more involved.

Sometimes you have no idea how you got to a certain point.

My roommate, Rita, and I are sitting in the front row of a packed Wellman 106 lecture hall. Students are waiting to receive their test packets by the blackboard. Calculators and pencils are being fiddled with as chatter quickly fills the muggy air. Anticipation arises.

April slides her pinky and index fingers across mine so only her middle and ring fingers are touching my palm. She gives me one long tap, two short ones, then another long one.

On the night of February 26th the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center experienced acts of vandalism. The entrance to the LGBTRC was defaced with derogatory and hateful words that target the Queer community.

It’s that time of the year again!

This spring, several UC campuses, including UC Davis, will implement a waitlist system in the admissions process.

In October, Student Housing announced the potential Davis Student Cooperative closure in August 2010 due to a $7,000 budget deficit. Residents of the co-ops however, are currently accepting resident applications for next fall.

Dear UC Davis community members,

The decision of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Feb. 8 to uphold the right to sue for three former UC Davis female student-athletes marks another legal victory for them and women’s wrestling. Fundamentally, this debate is about the free exercise of students’ rights and corporate politics in democratic education.
