First off, let me say how awesome last night’s game was. I was totally expecting that one team to win the Super Bowl. That one player really stepped up and did his part. Can’t say I was expecting that other player to do what he did, but there’s usually one of those in every Super Bowl.

Men’s basketball: “To use the word ‘heartbreak’ is not an overstatement.”

Women’s basketball: It’s one thing to beat the Big West Conference’s second place team.

Women’s water polo: The fireworks were on display Friday at Schaal Aquatic Center as No. 16 UC Davis and No. 15 Indiana squared off.

Gymnastics: The music was blasting, the crowd was jumping and the gymnasts were flipping. The energy from the home crowd translated to the gymnasts in UC Davis’ 192.100-188.950 victory over Air Force. This win pushed the Aggies’ record up to 6-1.

Football: The Aggies had a very successful National Signing Day last Wednesday, adding 16 student-athletes and one grant-in-aid signee to their roster.

Men’s golf: The Aggies entered this weekend’s Amer Ari Invitational as an underdog, matching up against some of the best schools in the nation.

Who to watch: Though UC Davis’ offense is prolific – 60 goals in 5 games – coach Jamey Wright still calls out a huge weakness.
