I know that, from a few slight implications here and there, it may seem like I’m a wake-up-in-the-gutter type drug user. In fact I am not, and I’ll use this week’s column to set the record straight. As it turns out, I use mostly legal drugs and have near-perfect grades (thank you Adderall!).

In response to the May 5 EPPC commentary on organic foods, the issue of whether organic produce benefits the well-being of the environment and livestock is not so clear cut. From my classroom as well as personal experience, I believe that sustainable agriculture and animal welfare are not always best obtained by strict adherence to organic production practices.
