Public discussion

Paul Harms thanked everyone who attended the Student Services and Fees Administrative Advisory Committee meeting regarding the 7 percent budget cut target for all UC Davis student affairs. He proposes that the next step should be a letter stating our opinions on the university’s proposal. Also proposed giving more funding to centers other than CAPS for mental health counselors.

Consideration of urgent legislation

ASUCD senate resolution authored by Paul Harms, co-authored by Oropeza, Zeng, Carrillo, Fluet, introduced by Zeng, urging the university administration to commit mental health funding to the Cross Cultural Center, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center, and Women’s Resources and Research Center. The resolution was introduced as urgent because the SSFAAC proposed budget cuts to the counseling units, which the senate felt should not have a comprised budget, and will be voting on them next week. The resolution was passed unanimously.

Other business

Campus Media Board meeting discussed KDVS fundraiser and budget cuts.

Meeting Adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
