Women’s Basketball 

Who: UC Davis vs. UC Riverside 

Where: Riverside (away)

Score: 81-68 (UC Davis win)

 

With a 10-0 start, UC Davis kept its momentum throughout the game. Hitting the 50-point mark at halftime, the Aggies continued to dominate, holding position and outscoring Riverside. Megan Norris, a fifth-year political science major, and Avery Sussex, a second-year undeclared major, both scored 21 points respectively, accounting for just over half of the Aggies total points. Norris also led the Aggies in rebounds, with a total of 12. This season the Aggies have continued to perform strongly, only suffering a few losses.

 

Women’s Swimming and Diving

Who: UC Davis vs. Fresno State

Where: Fresno State (away)

When: 1/24

Score: 127-165 (UC Davis loss)

 

Despite claiming individual victories and a relay victory throughout the day, the Aggies could not score enough points to win the overall meet against Fresno State. McKenna Valenta, a second-year undeclared major, won first place in the 200-yard freestyle event. Brynn Graham, a third-year mechanical engineering major, and Zoe Childers, a first-year business major, both captured the top two spots in the 400-yard Individual Medley event. Additionally, the UC Davis 400-yard freestyle relay placed first, propelling the Aggies to their final score of 127. 

 

Women’s Water Polo: Brigitte Donner Daws Memorial Invitational

Who: UC Davis vs. USA Academy, UC Davis vs. San Jose State 

Where: Berkeley (away)

When: 1/24

Score: 15-15 (Tie), 11-8 (win)

 

The Brigitte Donner Daws Memorial Invitational on Saturday proved to be a strong competition day for the Aggies, as they tied USA Academy and beat San Jose State. Despite the first match of the day being an exhibition match against USA Academy, the Aggies still held their own and finished the match with 15 points each. The next match of the day proved to be more challenging; the Aggies, who at the time ranked No. 16, were facing the No. 12-ranked San Jose State. Trading goals for the majority of the game, UC Davis and San Jose State were tied until the fourth quarter, when the Aggies pulled away and pushed the score to 11-8.
