Presentations

Lobby Corps representatives announced Lobby month and invited interested students and senators to attend an information session at Moss Room at 7 p.m. on Wednesday to talk about consensus issues for students and learn formal training for lobby visits.

Appointments and confirmations

Senator Rombi was confirmed as president pro-tempore with 6–42 vote.

Joey Chen was confirmed unanimously as ASUCD Controller.

Tiglath Ziyeh, Jeremy Koo and Baldeep Sidhu were confirmed unanimously to the ASUCD Court.

Kenneth Chambers, Abbie Lieberman and Lauren Levy were confirmed unanimously to the External Affairs Commission.

Kristina Bonnett, Gracie Miller, Mike Callahan-Dudley, Manny Rin and Jason Chun were confirmed unanimously to the Environmental Policy and Planning Commission

Consideration of Urgent Resolution

ASUCD Senate Resolution #X, authored by Rouhafza, co-authored by Brady, Herman, introduced by Lee, an ASUCD Senate resolution opposing the proposed cuts to the Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) Department at the University of California, Davis (UCD), passed unanimously.

Consideration of old legislation

SR#27 authored by Falk, introduced by Walz, an Associated Students of the University of California, Davis (ASUCD) Resolution supporting the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act (H.R. 1547 / S. 781), passed unanimously.

SB#44 authored by Navarro, co-authored by: Sommers-Miller, Webb, Chen, Brar, introduced by: Rombi, an ASUCD Bill to implement the Long-Range Plan for Project Compost, passed unanimously.

SB #46 authored by Hartstein, co-authored by Park, Rombi, introduced by Rombi, an ASUCD Senate Bill to implement the Long-Range Plan for Creative Media, tabled for further discussion.

Public Discussion

Senator Castillo Ruiz said the fundraiser for the Chicano/Latino graduation is on April 9 at the Fiesta Dance N’ Fitness with all proceeds going to the graduation.

Senator Tanner said the first planning conference for the Womyn’s Leadership Conference for winter 2011 will occur next Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Cross Cultural Center.

Vice President Witana said he extended the applications for ASUCD historian.

Other Business

Senator Tanner was re-nominated and confirmed as the Senate designee to Media Board.

Senator Lee was confirmed as the Senate designees for the Internet and Networking Committee

Senators Walz and Thongsavat were confirmed as Senate desginees for Unit Resource Space Allocation Committee
