ASUCD Senate meetings are scheduled to begin Thursdays at 6:10 p.m. Times listed are according to the clock at the Jan. 13 meeting location, the Memorial Union’s Mee Room.

Appointments and confirmations

Kevin Pascual, Joe Hallare, Kevin Navarro, Aaron Hsu, Josh Lovelace and Melanie Meamura were confirmed to the Internal Affairs Commission.

Stephanie Abrams, Brendan Repicky, Bihter Ozedirne, Yena Bre and Carly Sandstrom were confirmed to the External Affairs Commission.

Hattie Anderson and Rachael Valler were confirmed to the Gender and Sexuality Commission.

Jaspreet Dehar, Tomas Tesfasilassie, Brianda Castro, Jerome Wren, Olufemi Fayehun and Hassan Rezakhany were confirmed to the Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission.

Brian Barnett, Vladimir Rudovsky, Jaime Tuttle-Santann, Alexander Kelley, Christine Chou, Anastasiya Krasnyanska, Parichay Johri and Bryen Alperin were confirmed to the Business and Finance Commission.

Consideration of old legislation

Senate Bill 29, authored by Sergio Cano, co-authored by Ryan Meyerhoff, Nick Sydney and Adam Thongsavat and introduced by Thongsavat, to correct inaccuracies in the election codes, passed unanimously.

Public discussion

Lee brought up concerns over the grammar used throughout Senate Bill 29. The point of contention came over the gender neutrality of the language.

Public announcements

Lee said the ASUCD blood drives are coming up next week.

Walz and Tanner reminded new senators that they need to attend Safe Zone Training as well as a time management workshop.

Moosavi and Walz announced the upcoming Singles Awareness Night, where senators will be auctioned off. Senators are also being asked to appear in the event’s promotional video.

Approval of past meeting minutes

Minutes from Nov. 18 were also approved.

Meeting adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
