What is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC). It is such a fun, exciting environment, full of energy and life, with so many young people having a good time.
[My husband] Spyros and I try to make it to the ARC about four times a week. We usually try to get to the ARC in the early evening on weeknights and during the afternoon on weekends. I ride a bike for a half-hour and then use the elliptical trainer for another half-hour. Spyros rides a bike and then lifts weights. I usually catch up on the news while I exercise – CNN, most of the time.
But I like to see all the students and the faculty and staff working out there. Many people recognize me. Faculty will come by to say hello. A group of students might approach me and tell me how happy they are to see me using the ARC instead of going to a private club. For me, my workouts at the ARC become my own time and my own space. It feels like home.
