Some ASUCD members are not happy with the five cent tax increase to all ASUCD commercial units' credit card transactions, excluding Sodexho.
The fee would charge every ASUCD commercial unit an extra 4.56 cents for all plastic credit card transactions, including the ASUCD Coffee House, the UC Davis Bookstore, Campus Copies and the Aggie Student Store.

UC Davis Cancer Center bomb threat resolved
Operations at the UC Davis Cancer Center have returned to normal after a bomb threat earlier this week.
An unidentified man called the Cancer Center in Sacramento at 8:45 a.m. on Monday indicating there was a bomb in the facility and demanding $10,000. Police immediately evacuated 150 people from the building including 20 patients who were relocated to other facilities on the Health Center campus. Patients with appointments later in the day were rescheduled.
Some come to play. Some come to watch. Some come to bulk up. Some, not so much.
For whatever reason they come, the Activities and Recreation Center is the one place where anyone and everyone can come to relax from the stresses of school, work … and life.

A first-year was referred to SJA for altering an exam and submitting it for re-grading. The TA noticed the discrepancy because the student's answer did not show enough work to have logically reached the correct solution she had added. The student admitted that she had changed the answer to the question on the MAT16B midterm exam and had then submitted it for re-grading. As a result, she agreed to accept the disciplinary sanctions of deferred separation and 10 hours of community service.
Some Middle Eastern students no longer want to be considered white.
A student movement to add a Middle Eastern category on the University of California application has begun to pick up steam, as university officials mull over implementing the change.

Two small fires broke out at the Graduate School of Management and Conference Center construction site on Apr. 4, and were contained shortly after by the UC Davis Fire Department.

Tony Simon, a neuroscientist with the UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute, was recently awarded a five-year $2.6 million grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continue his research on the gene linked to autism, schizophrenia and ADHD.

Over 1000 people gathered around drum circles and traditional dancers in the Pavilion on Saturday for the 37th annual UC Davis Powwow. The event, presented by the Native American Student Union (NASU) attracted an estimated 1,300 guests during the course of the daylong event.
