Honorable Mention

Defense may win championships, but a team still needs offense to get there.

Center Aaron Salit was the offensive catalyst for the men’s water polo team all year.

Fresh from a redshirt year, Salit was huge early in the season. After a loss to California for the Aggies’ first game of the season, Salit rebounded for an 18-goal weekend that featured a career-high six-goal performance against Whittier. His monumental breakout earned him Western Water Polo Association Player of the Week.

He was also central to UC Davis’ strong push in the WWPA Championships. His two goals against both Air Force and UC San Diego contributed to the Aggies’ second place finish in the tournament.

Leading the Aggies with 49 goals and 18 field blocks, the native of Mill Valley, Calif. was named to the All-WWPA First Team.
