The UC Davis women’s volleyball team has been unbeatable all season, recently securing a spot in the Big West Championship finals. Ranked No.1, the team had a bye (automatic advancement) going into the quarterfinals; they then played in the semifinals against UC Santa Barbara and won. The Aggies saw a four set win over UC Santa Barbara, thanks to third-year human development major Mia Starr who achieved 21 digs and 40 assists — a season-high. Fourth-year aeronautical engineering major Jade Light continued to shine as she led the offense with 15 kills. The team dominated their first game in the championship, and is looking to continue the streak into the finals.
Men’s Water Polo
Who: UC Davis vs. California State University, Long Beach

Score: 12-11 (UC Davis win)
In a thrilling end to the men’s water polo season, the Aggies defeated California State University, Long Beach (LBSU) to secure the Big West Championship title. Winning by just a point over the No.1-ranked Long Beach State in the Big West League, the Aggies successfully pulled off the win. Third-year psychology major Baxter Chelsom, who led his team to victory, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match, as he had a total of eight impressive saves in the net. The UC Davis men’s water polo team was named Big West Champions immediately following the game, with the Aggies celebrating the win for the first time since 2022.
Men’s Basketball
Who: UC Davis vs. University of Louisiana

Score: 77-56 (UC Davis win)
Starting the match and the season off strong, the Aggies came out with an early lead fast into the game against University of Louisiana. Right from the start, they had a 15-0 run — never giving up the lead. Third-year communication major Nils Cooper led the Aggies in points, with a total of 18 by the end of the match. Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate student Niko Rocak also led the team with 16 points and three blocks. Overall, the team had a strong match, and secured a 21-point win over Louisiana.
