Calvin Thigpen was a major contributor to the UC Davis cross-country team all season.The senior biodiversity major from Santa Rosa, Calif. was one of just two UC Davis runners to earn All-Region accolades from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Thigpen finished 20th at the NCAA West Region Championships with a time of 30:35.95 to cap off a stellar senior campaign.
Thigpen’s strong running wasn’t centered at the West Regionals, however. He finished third at the Big West Conference Championship to help lead UC Davis to its first ever cross country team title since the jump to Division I.
The Aggies couldn’t have won the title without Thigpen’s strong running from the beginning.
