Honorable Mention

The UC Davis field hockey team grew exponentially in their second season as a program.

No player exemplified that growth more than sophomore Nadia Namdari.

After starting just three games in 2009, Namdari started all 17 contests this season. She led the Aggies in goals, points and assists, with eight, 21 and five, respectively.

Those totals also placed her in the top 10 in the NorPac Conference in both points and goals.

The Escondido, Calif. native had three game-winners this season, including an overtime goal to give the Aggies their first ever NorPac victory against Pacific.

Arguably her best game of the year came in UC Davis’ final contest which came in the NorPac Tournament. She had two assists and a goal in the Aggies’ 4-2 win over the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

Namdari’s performance this season led her to receive NorPac West Offensive Player of the Year and to be named to the All-Conference team.
