Honorable Mention

When the women’s soccer team was hit hard by injuries, UC Davis needed someone to fill the role of scorer and playmaker.

They found that person in junior Lisa Kemp.

The native of Eden Prairie, Minn. finished first on the Aggies in goals (five), second in assists (four) and third in total shots (43).

Kemp started every game for the Aggies in an injury prone season, and was the “go-to” player down the stretch.

The midfielder created opportunities and capitalized on open looks all season long. Arguably her most memorable goal was the game-winning score in UC Davis’ upset against eventual conference champion Long Beach State.

Her play caught the attention of other teams in the Big West Conference and earned her a spot as one of three midfields on the All-Big West Conference Second Team.
