News-in-Brief

Watches, wallets, digital cameras and a diamond ring all remain unclaimed at the UC Davis Police Department’s Lost and Found.

Lost items can be searched for or reported online, at ucdavislf.com/selectitemtype.aspx, or by going to the UC Davis Police Department’s website, clicking campus services and then hitting Lost and Found.

Robert Lieske with the police department said he’s disappointed that people aren’t claiming their possessions. The police department keeps items for 90 days before sending them off to an auction.

“I personally try to notify everyone when I can determine who the owner is,” he said. “But a lot of times I have no idea.”

The Lost and Found holds returned items that were on campus. This includes Unitrans buses, where Unitrans brings items to the police department every morning.

There are three other Lost and Found locations on campus – the Activities and Recreation Center, Shields Library and the Memorial Union. However, the UC Davis Police Department’s is the largest and the only one with an online database.
