Organizing financials can be a tough task for anyone, but it doesn’t have to be. There’s a great website called Mint.com that can help you organize all of your financials in one place. This site might not be perfect for everyone, but I tried it out and was impressed.
What kind of financials does it deal with?
The website lets you see all of your accounts, whether you have accounts in several different places or not. This means you can check your checking account from bank A, savings account from bank B and investments account from bank C all in one place.
How can it help me the most?
The best feature on the website is budgeting. The website looks at your expenses and then categorizes and averages how you spend your money. Upon doing this, the website can create a budget, based on your income and spending. It helps keep you on track with your budget by telling you how much money you have remaining in the different categories of your budget.
Is it secure?
Yes. Mint uses the same security system that banks use. Also, a person can never move your money around with Mint. The website’s features act as a read-only feature, allowing you to only see your financial information.
How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. The website is able to do this because it recommends ways for you to save money, and if one of those ways means you switching banks, Mint receives a small fee for its referral.
So how can I get started?
Once on the website Mint.com, all you have to do is register your e-mail, a password, Zip code and your financial accounts. Mint will compile all of your information in one place for easy access.
What is else is really cool about it?
If you have a Google Android or Apple iPhone, you can download the application for free. This means you will be able to access all of your financial information – such as budgeting, alerts of suspicious spending and much more – while on the go.
