Fighting weather that could best be described as dangerous, the UC Davis men's track and field team chose to play it safe. The Aggies lost to Sacramento State on Friday by their own accord, falling 99-94 at the Causeway Classic Track and Field Duel at Hornet Stadium.
After posting a strong fourth-place finish at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament last weekend, the UC Davis women's lacrosse team closed out its 2009 season with a 17-11 loss at the hands of Louisville on Saturday at Aggie Stadium.
It was Senior Day for attacker Patrice Clark and midfielder Eri Ichikawa. The two served as team leaders, setting the example for a young UC Davis roster.
The UC Davis women's track and field team dropped its third straight duel with Sacramento State on Friday, but the Hornets weren't the only thing the Aggies were up against.
Confronted by heavy rain, blistering wind and worries of weather-induced injuries, the Aggies pulled some athletes from competition and even cancelled the pole vault altogether in their 103.5-81.5 loss at the Causeway Classic Track and Field Duel in Sacramento.

Football
Former UC Davis defensive tackle John Faletoese has agreed to a free-agent contract with the Buffalo Bills while offensive guard Jonathan Compas has done the same with the Oakland Raiders.
Both players earned All-America and All-Great West Conference honors for the Aggies during the 2008 season while also serving as team captains.
